Employee of the Month (2006)
Although we’ve seen this basic plot over and over again, Employee of the Month is actually quite funny. I really enjoyed it as a piece of humor, starring comedian Dane Cook (Waiting) and Dax Shepard (Punk’d). Cook’s character battles Shepard’s character for the Employee of the Month title and the affections of the new girl, played by Jessica Simpson I can’t say that I believe a girl like Jessica Simpson would be working at a warehouse store, but I also can’t believe a guy like Dane Cook would be working there either. However, I definitely believe I’ve met all of the other characters at my local warehouse store. Anyway, I think this movie is good for a chuckle, but will just be a small stepping stone in the Dane Cook empire that has been built in recent years. Dane Cook has massive following, but I don’t think his fans showed too well at the box office for this movie, but maybe it’ll do better on DVD overall.
